Waking up at 4 am and daily trips 1.358 feet (414 m) up is nothing, if you know that you’ll be snapping a city in the clouds – this is how the days of a German photographer Sebastian Opitz would start in Dubai. From the 85th floor of the Princess Tower in Dubai, he created his breath-taking Cloud City photo series, with the skyscrapers piercing through the clouds and morning fog, which is rare in these places.

“By 9 a.m. the fog will have evaporated, so rising early is crucial,” says Sebastian. It also takes a lot of dedication and a good portion of luck. The result will surely leave you in awe!

Apartments in Hong Kong #arquitectura #fotografia

While Hong Kong is rated for one of the most liveable cities in the world, there are a lot of residents living in really cramped apartments. In an attempt to draw attention to the issue, human rights organization Society for Community Organization recently commissioned a series of photographs

According to the SoCO, over 100,000 people live in tiny “cubicle apartments” in the city. These are 40-square-foot living spaces created by dividing already-small apartments into multiple units.

Beautiful Australian Peacock Spiders #naturaleza #fotografia

Not a lot of us would choose spiders as an object of admiration, but the tiny Peacock Spider, found in Australia by Jurgen Otto, is exceptionally photogenic fellow! Sydney-based scientist says he wasn’t planning on staying there long because of lack of exciting things to shoot, until one day, he came across a mere 5 mm Maratus volans spider with vibrantly colored flaps. Fascinated by the variety of color patterns on the Peacock spiders, Jurgen even captured their mating process on tape.

Freaky Lips Art by Sandra Holmbom #design #art

There should be quite a bunch of horror movie makers who’d want to hire 26-year-old Sandra Holmbom from Sweden. Her latest project is a bizarre third eye that leaves you confused and unsure whether it’s an eye or lips you’re looking at. To make the detailed painting even more realistic, Sandra, aka Psychosandra, even attached fake eyelashes to her upper lip.

“I thought it was a long time since I did something with my lips. Wanted to do  something weird, yes, I can say that it is weird. But pretty, it’s not, but I  had fun anyway,” says Sandra. You’ll fing more of her bizarre artwork, if you dare to check!

Incredible Finger Paintings #design #art

While working, Iris Scott resembles a pianist – however, instead of music, she creates gorgeous finger paintings. With her hands in a pair of surgical gloves, the artist works by touching the canvas at multiple points at the same time. It might sound complicated, but she actually learned that this way it’s easier to get beautiful paint swirls and manage the amounts of oil.

Iris discovered finger paintings while living in Thailand. Hating the idea of having to clean the paint brush before going for the bright yellow, she applied the color with her fingertips. “I knew within 10 strokes that finger painting with oils was what I would spend the rest of my life doing,” says Iris. She says she has multiple sources of inspiration – sometimes a photograph or her own sketch: “I search for color relationships, and intriguing forms. I see the world through ‘finger painted’ colored glasses.”
